here is the update i promised

Ok so I hadn’t been able to get online there for a min but I’m back now
I just wanted to talk for a minute about the creative process and how I come up with my poetry…
I like to write usually I write with a pen and pad but as of late I’m really trying to use the tools that we have available this century, so I’m doing more typing. There is however something very admirable about handwriting especially when it is done right.
The only problem with handwriting is that if you put your pad down there is no guarantee that you can read your writing later. We have the computer so I use it.
Now in listening to some of my favorite rappers who I find to be very profound lyricist I keep hearing them say stuff like “I don’t write” and “ I don’t have time to write” that may be so but for most people if you want to be a poet I would strongly advocate writng.
One of the problems I have is that I can’t remember anything. I have the hardest time memorizing my poetry, to compensate for this I am an excellent reader. In my mind there is still a need to practice recitation and memorization. Anyone that would like to add links to this site for memory aid or methods to memorize lines please feel free.
I can’t say enough that this site was only created to support its sister site http://www.copper30.wordpress.com/

My poems come to me throughout the course of a day or weeks depending on my writing schedule. Poetry tends to back up on me its like I go about my daily routine and different things get set aside in my memory till I finally get to write them down then it is like draining a swimming pool.
I pull the plug and it all just seems to flow out
Sometimes I will get backlogged and then my thoughts tend to tumble as it were one over the other.
Now here is the reason why I would have to stress writing so much because when you recite or you talk you use a whole separate set of motor skills
In recitation you are using your mouth, your body language and your ears. Most important is the fact that you are using your ears because you are hearing and coordinating the things that you are hearing be it on the fly or rehearsed.
In the case of writing with the pen you have to filter the thought down into the hand , you are given as much quiet concentration as you can personally manage.
If you write in front of the tv then you leave that portion of yourself either distracted or under the influence of the outside force.
